Christina Carte (INA) is an award-winning independent singer, songwriter, and producer—born in Ganzhou, China, raised in Minneapolis, MN, and now based in both Washington, DC and Tallahassee, FL. With over a decade of experience in music studies, composition, performance, and chorale directing, INA brings depth and emotional clarity to every project.

Songwriter, Performer & Sync Artist

INA creates emotionally resonant music that explores grief, love, and sustaining self. Blending acoustic, lo-fi, ambient, and alternative R&B, her sound offers an audible hug with every track. Her catalog includes Be Still, INA (Debut EP - 2022), BREATHE (Single - 2023), and 3MOTIONS (EP - 2025).

Ina also writes for sync licensing, building a catalog of cinematic, emotionally driven songs for film, TV, and advertising. Her current project, 25 for 2025, is a year-long writing challenge blending personal expression and sync-focused practice. Songs 1–10 are deeply personal, while songs 11–20 are crafted to mock sync briefs. She is actively building relationships with sync executives, including the infamous Brett Engel, building a relationship with Universal Music.

Under the pseudonym NIA, she writes for other artists both independently and through a publishing deal with the legendary DarkChildGospel. Her genre-fluid, emotionally intelligent songs are tailored to each performer’s voice, with recent opportunities to write for artists such as SZA and Kylie Marshall and other rising artists across soul, R&B, pop, and indie.
